Case Study Archives: Package research/strategy for Atkins consumer products


Atkins Nutritionals, the New York-based creator of Atkins Diet reduced carbohydrate food products, was poised for significant growth as the low-carb lifestyle was taking off. With an eye to boosting sales volume and building brand equity, Atkins asked BrandLogic to help them study prototype elements for next-generation package design for items such as ice cream and breakfast products.

    Over the course of ten weeks, BrandLogic completed a full audit of the current Atkins packaging, as well as an audit of competitive/category packaging, and then proceeded to develop package messaging and image prototypes that were used in consumer testing.
    Results of this process yielded key insights into current Atkins packaging and consumer preferences – and strategic recommendations and implications for improvement.
